HOGE VELUWE, NETHERLANDS

A DAY IN HOGE VELUWE
18 °C NW 11 KM/H

The museum houses an extensive collection of early 20th century art, and the 2nd largest collection of Vincent van Gogh in the world.

Triumphant after interviewing Ineke Hans in Arnhem, our second interview in the Netherlands, we set out to enjoy the nearby, world-famous Kröller-Müller Museum.

The extraordinary Hoge Veluwe National Park is embedded within the heart of the largest nature reserve in the Netherlands, nestled close to the German border.

The museum and Hoge Veluwe park are accessible by free-to-use, white bicycles within the park. The natural vegetations and soils change as you ride: sometimes rolling sand dunes with open skies, and sometimes dots of moss and short yellow grass with impossibly green canopies of leaves above.

The experience taught us the importance of being in the moment, celebrating milestones, and being willing to go farther to find the extraordinary that few will experience. A glorious picnic, with good conversation and reflection was had on a hilltop, high above the dunes
